Commercializing Molecular Diagnostics
Sheraton Philidelphia City Center Hotel

Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Commercialization of a molecular diagnostic product presents numerous
challenges in our industry today. Regulatory challenges in the
co-developments of drug-diagnostic combinations are one major hurdle
being faced. Funding of projects and the marketing and branding of
products in a tough financial environment with a limited talent pool
in an extremely competitive industry brings even more complexity to
the mix. With molecular-based diagnostics in particular, technology is
constantly changing and sample collection and handling also present
challenges. To commercialize products with high clinical utility and
appeal, supply of reagents and samples as well as scale issues also
   need to be addressed.
