Visions of a (Semantic) Molecular Future - Symposium and Hackfest celebrating the career of Peter Murray-Rust

The world is changing rapidly and the meeting is an opportunity to
explore how the balance is shifting between established organizations
and individuals and groups. What information is created? Who (if
anyone) "owns" it? How does new technology and vision empower new
groups of people? How can machines be integrated to manage information
   for humanity?

The weekend is a "hackfest" where participants set out to change the
world by building things. There are no set goals, but the themes are
science, Openness and web democracy. This is followed by a one-day
symposium where visionaries who have worked with Peter give their idea
of the future. Both the symposium and the hackfest will be held at the
   Department of Chemistry in Cambridge/UK.
